How to make a cannabis-infused watermelon smoothie or juice
This recipe is an adaptation from instructions by MassRoots. Feel free to get creative with it and make changes where you see fit.
Ingredients and supplies:
- One watermelon
- ½ cup of water or coconut milk
- ¼ cup of sugar or 2 tbsp of honey
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 4-5 tablespoons of cannabis tincture
- Blender
- Mint leaves for garnish
Note that you can make your own tincture or pick one up from our Bellingham or Pullman dispensary. If you make your own, be sure to choose a strain that is fruity and will mix well with watermelon flavors. Similarly, if you are using a purchased tincture, be sure that it’s a good match if it’s flavored.
If you want a treat that’s on the creamier side, you can replace the water in the recipe with coconut milk.
Instructions:
- Remove all the fruit from the watermelon and cut it into small cubes.
- Add the fruit, water or coconut milk, sugar or honey, cannabis tincture, and lemon juice to the blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour into a glass.
- Add some mint leaves for garnish.
It’s as easy as that! If you somehow end up with leftover juice, it should store in the fridge for up to three days. Feel free to add more or less tincture and play with the amounts in the recipe.
You can also skip the smoothie aspect and go for infused watermelon juice. This is an easy adaptation. Just be sure to use water instead of coconut milk.
Instead of blending your tincture with the other ingredients, save it for the end. Once you’ve blended everything else, strain the mixture using a fine strainer into a glass. Add your tincture after straining the mixture.
How to make cannabis-infused popsicles
What’s better than a cool fruit smoothie or drink on a hot summer’s day? The answer is popsicles. Always popsicles.
This recipe is an adaptation from one posted to HelloMD. It’s super easy to pull off and the resulting treat is delicious.
Ingredients and supplies:
- About three cups of crushed watermelon
- 1 tbsp of lemon or lime juice
- 4-5 drops of cannabis tincture
- Honey or sugar to taste
- Popsicle sticks
- Blender or whisk
- Popsicles molds or alternatives
Instructions:
Blend all of the ingredients together until thoroughly mixed. Pour the mixture into a popsicle mold. Allow the mixture to freeze for about an hour and then insert a popsicle stick. Continue to freeze for at least one more hour until fully solid.
That’s it! So easy.
Don’t want to make a watermelon popsicle? You can do the same with any other melon or fruit you see fit. Try an infused strawberry or cantaloupe pop if you’re looking for a change.
And if you don’t have popsicle molds, don’t fret. You can use ice cube trays or even muffin tins in a pinch. You’ll just have some unique shapes!
How to infuse fresh watermelon slices
Don’t want to go through all the trouble of making a popsicle or beverage? You can infuse the watermelon as is.
Now, if you want to go all out, you can try to infuse a watermelon whole. We cannot vouch for this as we have not tried an adapted version of infused vodka watermelons using cannabis. But as many stoners know, most things are possible with a little creativity.
Instead, we recommend the easy method of cutting up some slices and dousing them in weed-y goodness. Our version is a simple adaptation from this beer-soaked watermelon recipe.
Ingredients:
- Cubed or sliced watermelon
- Fruity cannabis beverage
Instructions:
- Place the watermelon pieces in a large bowl.
- Pour the cannabis beverage over the watermelon pieces.
- Thoroughly mix until all of the watermelon pieces have been submerged in cannabis soda.
- Refrigerate for an hour.
- Serve with toothpicks or a fork.
This recipe is SO easy. You can even drink the excess infused liquid for more elevation. It’s easy to customize too. We recommend using a 100 mg soda to infuse slices for a group of people, though this will depend entirely on tolerance levels among the group. And if you have a lot of watermelon slices, go ahead and add two sodas.
This recipe can be customized again and again. Stop by one of our Washington dispensary locations to pick up the perfect cannabis beverage to infuse with. We love Ray’s Raspberry Lemonade with watermelon, though the infused mango and strawberry lemonades are close seconds.
Ready to make marijuana-infused watermelon?
Whether you go for the fresh watermelon slices, a watermelon smoothie, or a watermelon cannabis popsicle, we’re confident you’ll feel refreshed and elevated.
What’s great about these recipes is that they’re all very versatile. You can add as much cannabis tincture or beverage as you see fit.
Remember to start slowly if you don’t know how much cannabis edibles affect you. It can take up to two hours to feel effects, so don’t indulge too quickly or you may be in a world of psychological trouble until it wears off.
