Stressed? Try These Cannabis Self-Care Ideas

We’re getting through difficult times right now, in Bellingham, Washington, and all over the world.. As if the old world wasn’t already stressful enough, we now have to figure out how to carry on with our lives during a pandemic. If you’re feeling the weight of the situation, you’re not alone.

Stressed? Try These Cannabis Self-Care Ideas

June 6, 2020

First of all, take care of yourself. Not only is stress bad for the immune system but it can affect all aspects of your life from mental health to personal relationships. The last thing any of us needs right now is to weaken our immune system or strain other parts of our lives. Self-care can help.

Ready to treat yourself? Check out these tips:

Find a quiet place in nature to meditate or journal

Sometimes we just need to take a step back, go slowly, and get back in tune with ourselves.

The simple act of taking a walk and finding a nice place to sit and stay for a bit can make all the difference. This is especially true if it’s a sunny day.

Take a joint out into the backyard or on a walk with you. Feel your steps, feel your breath, and find your calm. Whether it’s meditating or writing out your feelings in a journal, it’s hard to come back from this experience in a bad mood. If you do, stay out longer.

Make yourself laugh

Weed and giggles are an obvious perfect match. Laughter is good for the body and we should all be striving for more of it.

Whether it’s a favorite comedian’s special you haven’t checked out yet, a hilarious Youtube fail compilation, or a goofy movie, give yourself permission to laugh. Don’t stop until you’ve had a healthy dose of laughter and smiles.

And if you need help loosening up or getting in touch with your silly side, weed can help. We recommend a solid dab of a concentrate that makes you feel good. Then you can unapologetically let yourself have a blast.

Listen to a podcast on interesting, non-news topics

It’s important to take a step back from the news and fill our minds with other content. Too much time on social media and news coverage can lead to burning out quickly.

There are plenty of news and current events podcasts, but for the sake of self-care, we recommend you find something completely unrelated to the state of the world.

We like to look up podcasts related to our interests or curiosities and find episodes that match our mood. There are so many podcasts out there that you’re bound to find one that suits your interests without adding stress to your daily life.

Our favorite podcast listening activity? Smoking a joint as we go for a long walk.

Make a playlist of your favorite songs and rock out

We all have songs or albums that take us back to the good ol’ days and never fail to make us smile. Why not compile them together so you can return to them when you need a pick-me-up?

Not only is it fun to curate a playlist of your favorite songs, but the process will also probably take you down memory lane. Hopefully, the memories attached to your favorite songs will be nice to reminisce with. If not, it’s time to make a new playlist with new songs that make you happy today!

Now you have a playlist of all your favorite songs that will be sure to cheer you up or help you get in the mood in the future. Have some green, blast those tunes, and have a dance party until you’re too tired to go on.

Set some time aside to watch the sunset

We know life is busy. It’s important to prioritize activities that bring you joy, though. So if you’re too busy when the sun sets most days, take some time to schedule an upcoming evening where you can just chill and watch the sunset.

Whether it’s from the beach, your backyard, or a favorite park, there’s no doubt watching the sunset can help you find a sense of calm and reconnect with nature.

Pack a blanket, some snacks, and your favorite bud and pipe. Get comfortable, get high, and watch the sun make its way down, paying close attention to the colors that appear throughout the process.

We always travel with a convenient and discrete pack of Mr. Moxey Mints! Low dosage, and a variety of CBD options, perfect for a relaxing time in nature.

Take a cannabis-infused bath

There are so many ways to infuse bathtime with cannabis. You can bring your pipe into the tub with you and light up as you kick back in the steamy water and vibe.

Bathtime can get even more elevated, though. Try a cannabis bath bomb if you want a truly transcendental experience. Bath bombs have already been a popular self-care choice for years because they are both fun to use and typically provide soothing aromatherapy.

Now imagine the calm, comforting experience of dropping a bath bomb in a hot bath and taking a deep breath. But this time, with the soothing effects of THC. Cannabis bath bombs are designed to bring total relaxation to the user’s body but aren’t typically meant to get users high.

However, we have heard some stories where users claim they got high from using a cannabis bath bomb. Different body chemistries, products, and amounts used may all contribute to this. Regardless, if you want to get really blazed from your experience, we recommend bringing a joint into the tub with you.

We love the Chamomile 1:1 CBD and THC bath bomb from Six Fifths when we want to get our relaxation on. We’re also big fans of the Lavender Relax bath bombs from Ceres. Browse any of our infused cannabis bath salts or bath bombs on our online menu by searching under “topicals” and filtering for “bath salt”. (don’t forget to choose your store location before placing your pre-order for pick-up! Snag a phat panda pre-roll while you’re at it!

The importance of self-care

When people think of self-care, they often imagine bubble baths and spas. Sure, those can be important parts of self-care (we love cannabis bath bombs, after all) but there is more to it.

Self-care needs to be regularly implemented into your routine if you want to stay well. That doesn’t mean you have to treat yourself to a spa day every time you’re stressed, though.

It just means you need to do things that make you happy. If the activity is good for your emotional, mental, or physical health, it can be self-care. That means leisurely walks, journaling, phone calls with friends, and tons of other ideas in between.

The goal of self-care is to, well, care for yourself. This also means setting boundaries, saying no when you are too overwhelmed, and listening to your body.

We think cannabis and self-care are a wonderful pairing. Sometimes weed is what we need to take the edge off and allow us to laugh a little louder or relax our minds. It can accompany just about any self-care activity.

So stop by one of our Washington dispensary locations today and get yourself some self-care weed! We’ve got everything you need from topicals to flower and concentrates for the perfect self-care experience.
