Stuck at Home this 4/20?

Our stay-at-home order here in Washington extends into May and might go on for even longer than that. While we all work to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, the biggest day of the year for stoners, 4/20, is going to look a lot different.

Stuck at Home this 4/20?

April 16, 2020

The history of this huge stoner holiday is ambiguous. We may never know exactly how 4/20 came to be, but we do know that it’s an important day for many. For some, 4/20 is a day to get higher than usual and celebrate the plant. Others take to this holiday to advocate for marijuana reform.

One thing is universal: a love of cannabis. Many people were looking forward to friend meetups, massive blunts, and walks through the fresh spring air to celebrate 4/20.  Unfortunately, celebrations with friends are off the table unless you already live together. And while we’re encouraged to go for walks and get some fresh air, we still have to keep our distance from others.

This 4/20 will be very different from the previous ones. That doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate, though. Stop by Satori’s Washington dispensary location nearest to you to stock up for the big day of virtual celebrations and social distancing fun! We’ve got huge savings beginning Friday April 17! Click here for details!

Attend a virtual 4/20 celebration

Cannabis and creativity go hand in hand, right? There’s no way the entire cannabis community would just let 4/20 pass by this year. Instead, many creatives have put together 4/20 events to bring stoners together during this difficult time.

Seattle Hempfest Toke-a-Thon

Seattle’s Hempfest is the largest annual gathering for cannabis advocacy. Every year the organization does a fundraiser, and this year it’s going virtual.

Starting at 11 am, the 420 Toke-a-Thon Multicast will stream worldwide and the first 100 Hempfest Members can join the Zoom group, while the rest can view from the live broadcast.

The cast will feature live music from country artist Raelyn Nelson (yes, that’s Willie Nelson’s granddaughter) and rapper Layzie Bone. There will also be guest speakers, including Keith Stroup of NORML, Danny Danko of High Times, and Steve Migs from Seattle’s KISW. There will also be plenty of stoner games and activities.

The event will go until 6 pm, so you have plenty of time to celebrate with these Seattle legends all day. They’ll even be doing 4:20 celebrations for each time zone so out-of-staters won’t be left out.

Highstream 420 Festival

Two of the largest cannabis gatherings in the United States, The Emerald Cup and the National Cannabis Festival, have joined forces for a big 4/20 virtual event.

They’ll be streaming music performances, online workshops, interactive panels, demos, and more via Nugs.tv. The Highstream 420 Festival is also partnering up with a number of charities to make this event even more meaningful. They’ll be taking recommended donations to the Drug Policy Alliance, Americans for Safe Access, and Crew Nation, a group that aims to provide financial relief to event crews who have lost work due to the coronavirus.

If you’re looking for a fun way to connect, share a virtual bowl, and give back to charitable organizations, Highstream 420 Festival may be the perfect event for you.

Weedmaps: Higher Together Sessions From Home

Weedmaps has claimed the title “The World’s Biggest Virtual 420 Celebration” for their big event. You can tune in from wherever you have internet access for music, comedy, live smoke sessions, and more.

They’re also doing 420 sweepstakes and winners can receive a 420 influencer kit straight from Weedmaps themselves. The prize is valued at $500, so it’s worth a shot to enter if you’re interested. What better way to celebrate 4/20 than with free cannabis swag?

Enjoy the Spliff Film Festival 2020 from your home

Fellow Seattleites with a love for film and weed, we are just as devastated as you that Spliff 2020 will not be happening in front of a live audience. However, these creatives have a new way to deliver their selection of cannabis-infused short films: virtually.

With live hosts and 22 short weed-inspired short films, it will almost feel like you’re at the theater watching it in real life! The show starts at 7 pm and you’ll need to get tickets, so get on that and make sure you’ve bought the same showing as all of your friends if you want to make this virtual film night into a real party.

Not convinced? Check out the Spliff 2020 trailer and then see how you feel.

Pass the blunt with your friends in a video chat

Or joint, edible, or whatever you’re using. Unfortunately, you don’t need to make a big, shareable anything this year. It’s all about personal consumption. However, you can still get that connection you crave on 4/20 by meeting up with your friends online. You can even view some of the previous suggestions together, or screen share one of the many livestreams happening, such as views of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival or live footage of the animals at the Seattle Aquarium.

It’s certainly not the same as spending quality time with your friends on what may be your favorite day of the year, but seeing and connecting with friends via video chat may help to take away some of the pain from 4/20 being essentially canceled.

Satori’s favorite 4/20 products

We don’t take 4/20 lightly. It’s a day to celebrate the plant and we like to do so with a variety of products. And not just everyday products. If you’re looking to spice up your 4/20 with something special, we’ve got you covered.

Wicked Hillbilly infused pre-rolls

We’re down to spark a joint any day, but we save the infused pre-rolls for special occasions. We love the Sativa Blend BHO-infused pre-roll because it’s extremely potent and sure to promote a sense of euphoria.

Coming in around 33% THC, these pre-rolls are wicked strong. Puff slowly.

Ray’s Infused Lemonade

This lemonade is tasty on any day, but even better on a sunny spring day. Whether or not 4/20 brings sunshine, we’ll be sipping on this lemonade from the comfort of our homes.

Ray’s has the classic lemonade flavor we all know and love. Paired with THC, it’s the perfect celebratory drink for 4/20. The effects of this lemonade are energizing and euphoria-inducing, making it a great choice for a holiday! Enjoy Ray’s infused lemonade in a large assortment of lemonade flavors like Mango, Raspberry, Strawberry, Huckleberry, and CBD varieties!

Odd Duck CBD Chocolate Variety pack

4/20 is a day dedicated to getting high. Sometimes people get a little too excited about this and end up, well, a little too high.

We know the feeling and that’s why we like to have these tasty CBD chocolates on hand. Not only are they gluten-free and vegan, but they pack 40 mg of CBD per 1 mg of THC.

On days like 4/20, where most of us are consuming more cannabis than usual, we like to eat some CBD chocolates throughout the day. We find that CBD helps alleviate some of the anxiety that can occur when we get too high.

Final 4/20 thoughts

If you’re bummed that 4/20 won’t be the same this year, you’re not alone. It’s a huge bummer for a lot of us. After all, this whole month was supposed to be a big 4/20. It should have been a very memorable holiday.

And it will be, but for different reasons. As we navigate this situation together, don’t lose connection with others. Take advantage of virtual events and the ability to video chat with friends and if all else fails, at least you’ll be high!
