We’ll show you two ways to make cannabis pancakes so you can choose what works best for you. If it’s a one-time or occasional breakfast experience, you may want to choose the second option we present. That includes the use of a cannabis tincture and does not require you to make any cannabis-infused ingredients before you start.

If you are planning to make weed pancakes on the regular, making a batch of cannabis-infused milk is the way to go. This way you can keep it fresh in the fridge for a bit and use it as needed.

Weed pancakes: method one

The first method starts with making your own cannabis milk. We’ve covered how to make cannabis milk in the past for our cannabis milkshake recipe, but we’ll share it again here as well.

Start by gathering your supplies. You’ll need:

  • Two cups of full-fat whole milk
  • 2-7 grams ground cannabis
  • Cheesecloth or strainer
  • Double boiler or two saucepans

To make the milk, follow these steps:

  1. Boil milk over a double boiler or create a makeshift double boiler with two saucepans.
  2. Reduce the heat to a simmer.
  3. Slowly stir in the ground cannabis. Make sure the milk completely covers the buds and stir every few minutes.
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer for 45 minutes. Stir every few minutes and do not leave unattended.
  5. Remove from heat and strain the cannabis out of the milk using a cheesecloth or similar strainer. The milk should be a yellowish-green.
  6. Allow to cool and store in the fridge for no more than a week after making.

Now you have made cannabis milk! We can move onto the steps for making cannabis pancakes.

The recipe we are sharing is adapted from a simple Martha Stewart pancake recipe. With just a few easy adjustments, you’ve got yourself a delicious, cannabis-infused breakfast that will elevate your whole day.

Here’s what you need:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cannabis-infused milk
  • ½ cup regular milk
  • 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Toppings of choice

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and prepare a baking sheet to keep completed pancakes warm in the oven.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk milk, butter/oil, and an egg together.
  4.  Slowly stir in the dry ingredients from the other bowl.
  5. Whisk until just moistened. Do not overmix or worry about any small lumps.
  6. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt some butter or add a little vegetable oil to the skillet as it heats.
  7. Spoon 2-3 tbsp of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  8. Cook until the pancakes begin to bubble and burst, about 1-2 minutes. Flip carefully and cook until the underside has browned, just a couple more minutes.
  9. Move to a baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm.
  10.  Repeat the process until you run out of batter.
  11.  Serve and top with your favorite combinations.

That’s it! The only thing you need to change up when it comes to cannabis-infused pancakes is the milk. We recommend doing at least a 50/50 ratio of regular and infused milk for the best flavor and effects.

This recipe is super versatile and allows for plenty of changes. Add some cinnamon, vanilla, or even fresh berries to the batter for an even tastier experience.

It’s up to you how potent the pancakes will be. If you aren’t sure about the dosage, we recommend starting on the low end when making your first batch of cannabis milk. It’s better to not get high enough for breakfast than to accidentally get too high and suffer for the rest of the day.

Not sure about how to dose out your cannabis milk or don’t want to go through the hassle of making a refrigerator staple for a simple batch of pancakes? You’ll want to use the following recipe instead, then:

Making cannabis pancakes with a tincture is as easy as that! We love using this option because it allows us to really play with the dosage. If you are making weed pancakes for several people, you can even have everyone apply their own dose of tincture to their pancake batter before cooking.

Much like with the weed pancakes using cannabis milk, start small if you don’t know how much to dose. The good thing about cannabis tinctures is they come with easy measuring tools so you can get a precise dose. If you’re not sure how strong you want to go, start with a 10mg serving.

We know pancakes can be hard to stop eating. But pay attention to how much you have consumed when it comes to infused pancakes as eating too much can really make or break your day.

Get creative with the process, making your own sauces and toppings or different shapes and sizes of pancakes. The options are endless.

Just be sure to take it slow if you aren’t big on eating cannabis. Effects typically take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to occur, so don’t stuff yourself with too many pancakes until you’re sure you are ready for it.
