2021 is almost behind us. There’s snow on the ground and a sense of quiet in the air, but that won’t last forever. Soon the snow will melt and a new year will be here. How are you going to ring it in? If you’re looking for Bellingham New Year’s Eve events, we’ve got you covered.

Ring in the New Year with These Bellingham Events

December 29, 2021

Many people just gathered with their families for the holidays, so be sure to take the necessary precautions to avoid any COVID scares. We’ve gone over some safety precautions for getting high during COVID before, so you can even brush up on best practices before you go out and party.

With that said, let’s dive into the best Bellingham new year’s eve events!

Great Gatsby New Year @ Galloway’s

100 years after the Great Gatsby was set is the perfect time for a roaring twenties-themed party. Galloway’s Cocktail Bar in Fairhaven has you covered.

Enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and delicious bites while dressed like you’re from the 1920s. Okay, it’s not required, but you might as well go all the way and put on an era-relevant outfit if you’ve got one.

In light of COVID times, the New Year party is offered in tickets for parties of 2 or 4. No large groups are permitted to order together. Tickets include a midnight glass of champagne, small bites to eat, and a guaranteed table.

Dance Into the New Year @ Twin Sisters Brewing

If you like to dance, you’ll have a blast at the Twin Sisters Brewing New Year event. They are offering three different dance floors: the main restaurant with The Walrus, the taproom with bluegrass fiddlers, and a beer garden party tent with a silent disco. Whatever your style, they’ve got a place for you.

Whichever room you choose will provide a fun New Year’s eve atmosphere to dance the night away. There will be a countdown to midnight and a balloon drop as well. And like every good party, there will be plenty of brewpub snacks.

NYE Concert with MUNCH INK. @ Boundary Bay Brewing

Do you like rock, blues, funk, and psych music all at once? Then you won’t want to miss the New Year’s Eve concert with Bellingham’s MUNCH INK at Boundary Bay. The 21+ event starts with an opening set by Lyla Minor, a blend of psychedelia, rock, and modern pop. This event provides another opportunity to dance 2021 away.

Come ready to dance and enjoy some seriously talented local music.

Be sure to check with the venues before attending

At the time of writing this, we verified that all of the events listed are set to take place. However, there could always be last-minute decisions to postpone or cancel events in light of rising COVID case numbers. For example, the Petty or Not and Baby Cakes event at the Wild Buffalo has been pushed back from New Year’s Eve to February.

Check event pages or company Facebook pages to verify that your event of choice is still going on.

Don’t want to attend a large, coordinated event? Here are some other ideas for ringing in the new year:

Host a small cocktail party

Invite a small group of your close friends over for a fancy night in. Part of the fun of New Year’s Eve celebrations is dressing up and admiring others’ party outfits, so you can still dress fancy and get the full experience at home.

Make plenty of tasty appetizers and cocktails and the fun will follow. You can find a livestream of a countdown to midnight and feel like you’re all at a larger event, too.

Host a game night

If you’re not in the mood for a cocktail party, game night is a perfect alternative. Once again, invite a small group of friends over and be sure to provide plenty of snacks and drinks.

From poker to Settlers of Catan, you can’t run out of fun games to play. Between the snacks, drinks, and competition, the new year will be here in no time. If the competition is heated, be sure to set a timer so you don’t miss the final countdown.

Watch the best movies from 2021

Do you have favorite films from 2021 or a list of movies you never got around to watching? Now’s the time. Queue up a whole marathon of 2021’s greatest hits, make some popcorn, and enjoy the show. This is a great activity for a group of movie lovers or just someone looking for something to do while they spend new year’s eve in their living room.

Make sure you have enough weed

Start the new year off right: stoned. Or at the very least, don’t end up with an empty stash at the start of a new year. If you need to stock up for the holiday, stop by our Bellingham dispensary.
